I am 30 weeks on Thursday. 30 out of 40 weeks = 3/4 Baked. I am officially in the 3rd trimester and have been for a few weeks now so it is time to catch up on the bloggity blog. There are quite a few things I want to remember, keep in mind haven’t done this for 10 weeks…
*Cravings: apples, cereal, milk. The milk intake is a bit disturbing and expensive (organic milk isn’t cheap), it is like I cannot get enough of that stuff. I have no idea what this really means, but at least it is a healthy craving. Aversions: eggs, ground meat, most cooked/steamed veggies
*Low, Low, Low: This baby has been low pretty much from day one. I’ve been waiting for bh to move position, but it is just not happening. I rarely ever get pokes in the ribs, but always have pokes in the bladder. The bathroom trips have reached an all time high, last night I woke up 5 TIMES!
*”You’re having a BOY!” I am hearing that a lot these days and I am actually starting to wrap my head around the fact that this could indeed be a boy. I would say I am up to 70/30 in thinking this is a boy, I huge shift from my girl prediction for the first 20ish weeks. I’ve had a gender dream at about 6 weeks, and it was a girl, and Victoria talks about a baby sister named “Mia” (Amelia) a lot more than a baby brother, but everything else is pointing towards boy (you know, all the wives tales).
*This whole not finding out the gender thing is confusing Victoria, there are many days she thinks that both a brother and a sister are coming home to her house. Only one V, I promise you, only one.
*The nursery is 98% completed: walls painted, furniture in, decorations up, crib bedding set, closet redone….I need to do a nursery post in the future. It will look very similar to V’s nursery since we are reusing everything.
*Bedtime is almost always 9pm. Some nights I can make it until 10pm, but after working all day (most days I stay 1-2 hours after to get things ready for my maternity leave), entertain V until Greg gets home (longest part of my day), dinner, after dinner routines, catch up on maybe one show on the DVR and then bed. I miss my after school naps that I could take when preggo with V. Greg has almost 3 hours a night to himself, and I almost always wake up to a clean kitchen & living room, he is the BEST!
*The pregnancy related comments I have been receiving at school have been out of control, and not in a good way. I actually stood up for myself after the 2nd time someone offended me in 2 days. Pregnancy rage, it is a real thing and not to be messed with. Look Out!
*Pregnancy & Style: I received a lot of maternity clothes from my friend Jodie, who has the best fashion sense of anyone I know…well, my coworker, Melinda (also pregnant) also has great fashion sense too. So what happens when these two things collide? Melinda & I end up wearing the same maternity outfit on the same day at school. Preggo Twins!
*This pregnancy has done a number on my nails (I’ve lost 2 toe nails this pregnancy, gross, I know) and my hair, it has been super dry & damaged. I switched to a Keratin shampoo & conditioner and got a hair cut and this seems to be helping. So much for these things being “perks” of pregnancy.
*I hosted our 9th Annual Halloween party at 28 weeks pregnant, it was a huge hit and people stayed until after midnight, woo hoo, but I only took 3 pictures, ooops!
*A few weeks ago I saw I double rainbow and it bought tears to my eyes. I could not help but think of both my angel baby & my rainbow baby. Rainbows have a totally new meaning to me now.
*I need to start working on my pregnancy Shutterfly “scrapbook” of pre baby memories. I made one of these for Victoria and WILL do this for this baby too. It is the perfect memento to show our children just how much they were loved before they ever entered into the world.
*What I Love: Watching Victoria be so excited about being a Big Sister, our family photo session (should be getting the pictures soon), baby hiccups (at least twice a day), baby kicks (just not in the bladder), Greg looking forward to bh 2.0 and talking about our future with 2 kids, looking forward to Christmas, each week being thankful for no signs of preeclampsia.
It is hard to believe that 4 weeks from today, during my pregnancy with Victoria, we had a baby in our arms…aaahhh!
Here is a sneak peak of our family photo session:
