Greg & V are starting to get into the habit of wearing matching Steeler jerseys on football Sundays (thank you consignment finds). We have spent some time explaining to V that the Pirates are taking a break from baseball and we are now focusing on football & hockey season. She still looks for Cutch on tv, but I think she is slowly getting used to the idea of waving a Terrible Towel instead of a Jolly Roger flag.
The Steelers did not have a great start to the season, their 0-4 record was painful, but we were so busy with the Pirates, we were not paying too much attention (because the Pirates played baseball in October!), but now the Pirates are done and it is time for the Steelers to start WINNING. Today was one of those days, Steelers were in the lead against the Ravens (aka Dirty Birds, it was so nice not to see Ray Lewis’s ugly mug) so during halftime, Greg & V grabbed their rakes and headed outside.
Victoria is obsessed with the leaves. She wants to play in them every chance she has and today was no exception. Greg had just mowed the lawn and we have very little trees in our yard to begin with, so we headed to the neighbor’s yard for some prime leaf jumping.
It did not take long for the two of them to rake up a nice leaf pile and Victoria wasted no time running & jumping into the leaves. She loved jumping, throwing, raking, and playing in the leaves. Daddy even joined in on the fun. It was a beautiful fall evening spent together as a family. I am glad we were able to get this leaf time in because there are two days this week where there is a chance of S-N-O-W. I like the snow, but not when it invades my favorite season. There is plenty of time for snow mother nature, plenty of time.
I wrote this post yesterday, but today we celebrate this guy’s birthday!!! Another year of happiness, laughter and love. This is his last birthday as a family of three, I am excited to meet the precious gift he has given me in January! We love you very much & hope you have a great day!! xoxo
