I know, I know, Christmas was soooo last month. I am almost done with my Christmasy posts. It was hard to keep up when were were on the go for almost the entire month of December and I don’t want to leave anything out, but I am almost caught up, I swear!
We were off to NY after our Christmas in the Country celebration with Greg’s family. We arrived around midnight, V woke up (after sleeping the entire way to NY), and thought it was the middle of the day, lights, snacks, and Graaaaaaamy! Everything was fun and games until it came time to put her to bed, and then momma was the only one that could get the job done. (in a pack in play that she climbed out of 12343823 times). Greg and I were rewarded the following day by being allowed to sleep in until 10:45am!!! I cannot seriously remember the last time we ever did that, ever.
V loves grammy & papa’s house because it is full of toys and fun things to play with. V wastes no time making herself feel right at home. Grammy has taken the “special toys for grammy’s house” to a whole new level. (lets just say I got my mom hooked on kids consignment sale shopping too) It was especially fun for her during Christmas because my mom has a lot of kid friend decorations that she has saved through the years and V was in heaven. Grammy just has it all!
My cousin Tiffany, her daughter and husband were in town from AZ for the first time in years! (I think 6 years to be exact) They stopped over Sunday afternoon and it was so nice to see them and catch up. We met her husband and younger daughter Charlotte for the first time. We were sad not to see her older daughter Alexis, but she was out shopping with her grandpa.
V and Charlotte played together for a few hours while Tiff and I tried to take picture of two mobile toddlers “together” it was a challenge, as always. Before we knew it, it was time to say goodbye. I hope it is not another 6 years before we see them again. I am thankful for facebook, we are able to keep in touch from across the country.
Later that day my mom had a small get together with her closest friends. It is always great to see them and they are always so good to V.
V was hysterical when she opened the stuffed bee. She picked it up, looked and it and when she realized what it was, she screamed and threw it. (as if it actually stung her, who taught this girl about bees?) Then for the next 2 days she would not go near the bee, regardless of where we put it, she would have none of it. We’ve never seen her so afraid of something. By the end of the week she warmed up a little more to the bee, but we left it at grammys for now just incase.
We had a great start to our week in NY. It was so good to finally be home! We had not made a trip to NY since Memorial Day weekend. I mom reminded me several times over the break of this fact and we really need to make more trips home in 2013!
Up next, Christmas Eve with my dad!! Stay tuned…
Lucky you got to sleep in! I don't know if would be able to lol guess I'm so used to being up super early no matter what!
